Basics and introduction

This in-depth course is aimed specifically at developers with experience in OPC UA. It provides an introduction to the OPC UA Machinery (OPC 40001) standard and presents the required types and concepts of the base model and other relevant companion specifications (DI, Machinery, ISA 95). Participants will then learn about the various building blocks of the Machinery standard based on use cases.

Practical exercises will be used to deepen participants' understanding and enable them to directly apply the knowledge they have acquired to realistic examples.

Sebastian Friedl completed his degree in mechatronics at the University of Stuttgart and then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW). There he specialized in OPC UA modeling and worked as an editor on various OPC UA Companion Specifications. He also actively participated in numerous VDMA and OPC Foundation working groups. He has headed interop4X since October 2022 and, together with his team, supports companies and working groups in implementing OPC UA.
