interop4X at glasstec 2024: OPC UA presentation and live demonstrations

interop4X will be making an exciting contribution to this year's glasstec (22-25 October, 2024 in Düsseldorf, Germany). On October 24 at 1:50 pm, Sebastian Friedl, Head of interop4X (FVA GmbH), will give a presentation on "OPC UA for flat glass: A practical report on the showcase and plugfest events as part of glass trends live (Hall 10, Stand A70, Stage 1). The session will be moderated by Gesine Bergmann (VDMA e.V.) and Jochen Grönegräs (Bundesverband Flachglas e.V.).

Insights into the future of glass production

Sebastian Friedl will present the latest developments on the OPC UA Companion Specification for Flat Glass. This communication architecture enables standardized, manufacturer-independent exchange of data. The focus will be on an introduction to the machine job management model, which improves interoperability between machines. Reports on plugfests and the jointly developed showcase will provide visitors with valuable practical insights.

Visit us at the VDMA/interop4X stand

Together with the VDMA Forum Glass Technology, we will be presenting the key results from the plugfest events at our shared stand (Hall 15 / A43). The umati dashboard will provide live demonstrations on the interoperability of different machines. A compact prototype will also illustrate OPC UA Machinery Job Management in action.
